Finding the right approach to client services
I just read the article “how to find better clients” and wanted to share. The author makes an interesting point of the honest introspection necessary to determine what types of people and work are the right fit for your company goals. His article was in response to a piece proclaiming the end of client services.

Where to buy American—so many bad websites
So, I’ve been on a Made in the USA kick for the last year, partly cause I feel like it might help the economy a bit and partly out of shock. I spend a great deal of time in hardware stores and monolithic chains like Home Depot—I own a fixer upper that I’ll be upping to infinity, but I digress. I have been collecting an assortment of power tools—as every wannabe handyman should, and when I went to upgrade my drill last year I decided, it had to be Made in USA…So, I reviewed all the big name brands and none were made in the U.S.—my Wisconsinite buddy then smiled and told me I had to go with Milwaukee brand then, so, after sighing over the price I agreed he was right, only to pick up the box and read the all too common, made in China (http://sadtrombone.com/).
Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against the Chinese or a balanced global trading system—I really just wanted a quality tool made at home (I mean it would help the economy and “be green”—you know, less shipping and what not). One year later and I am no closer to the Made in USA tools I have sought, but I have done my part for our international trade. I was totally pumped though when we bought our soon-to-be here daughter’s crib mattress with the Made in USA label..woot! Score one for Baby K!
For anyone who doesn’t know me well—too bad, no seriously…I have been working with digital communications and websites for the last 12 years. So, A-ha! I’ll build a site to start aggregating Made in USA products, so I queried “buy American” yielding these results: https://www.google.com/search?q=buy+american&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls
Please have a look and click around—while the intentions are good (I think—I really didn’t linger long) please don’t be too saddened by these unappealing sites. Perhaps the state of these out-of-date sites is just another commentary on why it is so hard to Buy American these days—or maybe, I just had too much ice cream tonight.
